I joined the weight loss team at My Bariatric Solutions in July 2011 as a nurse clinical coordinator. I, along with the patient care technicians, work with each potential surgical patient assisting them complete pre-operative testing and answer any questions they may have pre/post-operatively. I serve as backup for clinic staff as needed and travel to Fort Worth and Waco when required. I began as Director of Bariatrics in 2017 and enjoy being involved in both the clinical and administrative sides of My Bariatric Solutions, which provides me more opportunity to improve customer experience. I have been a nurse since 2005, with work experience that includes family practice clinic, home health, and bariatrics. I have a Bachelor of Science in nursing and have been certified as a Bariatric Nurse (CBN).
My responsibilities as clinic coordinator include coordinating meetings with all department directors within Wise Health System (WHS). This ensures every aspect of the patient’s care is met from admission to discharge. Meetings also serves as a forum to monitor requirements to make sure they are maintained for Wise Health System’s accreditation as a Comprehensive Bariatric Facility under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP). This accreditation proves the facility meets the highest standard of patient care. During monthly nursing orientation classes, I introduce nursing staff to our program and its stringent requirements, which further improves the patient’s experience while at our facility.
Struggling with weight gain and the ability to maintain weight loss myself, I had weight loss Surgery with My Bariatric Solutions in early 2012. After seeing the success of so many of our patients, it empowered me and gave me the courage to make my own positive life changes. To date, I am 75 pounds down and grateful for the improvements to my overall health. Losing the weight has drastically improved the quality time I get with my husband of 20+ years and two very active sons.
