As the medical director of My Bariatric Solutions, Dr. Scott Stowers has trained in some of the most respected institutions in the nation. After graduating from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, he earned his Doctor of Osteopathy at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. This was followed by a medical internship at the Dallas / Fort Worth Medical Center. Dr. Stowers completed his residency in general surgery at the Dallas / Fort Worth Medical Center, ultimately serving as Chief Resident from 1991 to 1992.
Dr. Scott Stowers is licensed to practice medicine by the state of Texas. Dr. Scott Stowers is a member of many prestigious medical organizations, signifying his commitment to excellence and the recognition of his peers as a quality bariatric surgeon. They include:

Dr. Arsalla Islam is a board certified surgeon and brings more than nine years of surgical experience with her from two nationally recognized academic programs: Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and UT Southwestern Medical Center where she served as the Bariatric Medical Director. Throughout her career, she has authored 8 book chapters and 23 peer review articles.
Dr. Arsalla’s wide range of multi-faceted expertise includes surgical treatment for conditions, such as morbid obesity. She offers LAP-BAND®, Gastric Sleeve, and Gastric Bypass. Dr. Arsalla and the bariatric support team are highly trained caregivers with impeccable credentials.

Dr. Smith comes to My Bariatric Solutions following his residency at Carilion Clinic in Virginia, where he was awarded Resident of the Year for his outstanding work, bedside manner, and compassionate care. Dr. Smith has a wide range of experience in the following surgical procedures: bariatric, colonoscopy, colorectal, hernia, breast, appendix, gall bladder, surgical oncology and thyroid.

Dr. Smith calls Wise County his home and is excited to be back in Texas with his wife and two children as he embarks on a new chapter in his life, not only joining My Bariatric Solutions, but also starting a private practice in Wise County. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, flying small private planes as well as spending time with his family.
